Aerial Farms

I could tell reading the manuscript that this was the point in the story where the author visualized a picture of "strata;" showing every object resting in the dirt at a different layer. I resolved that this was going to be the first archaeology book (for children) in history not to show strata. I took the opposite approach. The author mentioned the "passing on" of family quilts and farms, and "hidden history" and I thought, "from the air, the farmland looks like a quilt!" I also like that this solution put the focus on the land, which is really the main character!
