This was a really lucky painting.

The nice thing about working in watercolor is every so often the laws of physics come along and paint something for you better than you ever could have painted it intentionally.

Working on this painting, I remember puddling the paint in the background, messing with it, messing with it some more, adding some more paint, some more water...and then...

...a moment where my only thought was, "Oh please, please, dry like that." and then waiting nervously for twenty minutes.
