S t a r s (113k) Watercolor on paper. Comments Fun to do but unremarkable from an "art process" standpoint. Painting this kind of illustration, you basically muddy about for a while with the paint, and hope you get lucky. When you get something lucky, you try and dry the thing in a hurry so it stays that way! The lucky part on this one was the edges and the streaking in the starry sky. Though it was my idea to have all the illustrations "lose-edged", I would probably reverse that decision for all the non-spots...with the exception of this one and maybe the picture of Aerlich the dog. (not posted) Live and learn I guess. |
