The Lost Meadow
Sketch & Color Comp

Sketch

In this image I was trying to mimic the previous painting---so that the viewer would know it's the same place transformed.  Same general approach, but with a completely different palette, etc.

Color Comp

In the previous painting, I was trying to make the meadow appear almost iridescent.  In this one, by contrast, I was trying to make it appear dull, lifeless, and for lack of a better word, heartbroken.  I muted the palette severely, and tried to make it appear muddy and unpleasant.
