Originally, the endpapers were going to be completely different.  I was going to have a bunch of butterflies, small, barely visible, with only one of them in full color.  The idea being I wanted one butterfly to be leading you into and out of the story.  (see the end) When I found out we couldn't do my original idea---it would have meant an extra press pass just for the endpapers---I fooled around with the color comps until I came up with this; which I like a lot better than my original idea anyway!  

 

I was trying to make the butterfly look like he was directly above you with the sun shining through his translucent wings.
