This was the very last painting I completed for the book.  What's really fun is the model for the painting is Ben Eisenstat, an illustrator and the grandfather of Robbie, the model for the young John Farrington.   

 

I consciously tried to paint this one to reference the cover image.  It is one of my favorite paintings from the entire book.
