Here the dying John Farrington has been changed into a butterfly once again, and flies off leaving his wheelchair empty.

 

This was another painting that changed considerably through the color comps.  I'm really happy with the final version of this, particularly in light of how the endpapers changed;  I feel they tie the ending up in a nice way visually.
