Here on This Spot "Mastodon" Graphite on Bristol Board Comments This piece, of all the pieces in the book was the one I procrastinated the most on because I was terrified of it. "Draw a Mastodon? Anyone have a picture of one I can borrow?" Not likely. I ended up using photos of elephants, and a very detailed, thorough, book on Mastodons, to interpolate the differences. After all that self-imposed terror, this piece ended up taking me less than an hour to actually draw it, and it turned out to be one of my favorite pieces in the whole book. I'm really pleased with it how it came out. |
