This artwork appears opposite the page showing the farmer finding the mastodon
bone. This was another one I was afraid of initially, that turned out much better
than I had expected. Another one of my favorites from the book.
I don't know whether these pieces are my
favorites because they are actually better than the others--or whether I was expecting a
struggle, and they turned out okay, so I felt unreasonably positive about them!
