The One
Color Comp Painting
Watercolor
This is one of two straight watercolors in the book. As I describe in the Process section, I deliberately neutralized the palette of the book so this painting, and the one of Shining at the end would feel much more luminous and colorful.
Harcourt did a great job reproducing the art for this book, but with any book, there are certain paintings that suffer more than others just because of the nature of printing processes. This is the only painting in the book that I wish had printed differently. It printed just a bit muddy for my taste.
